Course Description

After the successful completion of the course, the participant should demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skill and understanding of ECDIS navigation and electronic charts to undertake the duties of a navigational watch officer defined by STCW Code.

This knowledge, skill and understanding should be in accordance with IMO Model Course 1.27, but is not limited to:

Knowledge of the capability and limitations of ECDIS operations, and all indicated sub-topics
Proficiency in operation, interpretation, and analysis of information obtained from ECDIS, and all indicated sub-topics
Management of operational procedures, system files and data, and all indicated sub-topics

TARGET GROUP

Navigational watch officers, experienced nautical officers and other persons with responsible duties in navigational work.
