Course Description
REMOTE SOLUTION
The online DP Induction course will be conducted remotely with online live instructor through Video conferencing, and the participants will get access to generic DP Software with use of DP Trainers SOP (Screen operator panel).
This online course consists of the theoretical and practical modules of the DP Induction course and these must be completed before enrolling to the Nautical Institute DP Induction online exam.
The Online exam must be completed at a Nautical Institute accredited centre or remotly by TestReach Remote Invigilation Exam. The TestReach Remote Invigilation Exam will generate an additional fee. Contact your local centre for more information.
The course is fully completed when passing the exam.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
DP Induction Course - Nautical Institute
In order to confirm your reservation, we need some information/documents:
1 - Your passport number;
2 - Your full address, including zip code;
3 - Your COC OR a letter from your company OR from your training college indicating that you are on a STCW Certificate of competency course.
Navigators, DP operator trainees and other users of DP systems who would like to start the Nautical Institute's DP Operator Certification Scheme.

The DPO can record on this logbook maximum of 60 days DP time prior to returning to a Training Centre for online exam.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
To have the best outcome of the course, you should have access to a PC with a Monitor of minimum 22” or a lap-top with an additional monitor of minimum 22”.
Systems recommended are:
- An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (4G/LTE)
- Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth
- A webcam or HD webcam - built-in or USB plug-in
